Second Cup Cafe: Boys Like Girls

The Boston-based pop-rock quartet, "Boys Like Girls," knows the right formula to create a catchy, pop-punk anthem that can rock the masses.

They also know a thing or two about love.

And in the spirit of Valentine's Day, the band stopped by "The Early Show Saturday Edition"'s "Second Cup Cafe" to perform their hit summer song, "Love Drunk" and their new song, "Two Is Better Than One."

The past three years have been a whirlwind for the group, made up of four best friends -- Martin Johnson (songwriter, lead vocals, guitar), Paul DiGiovanni (lead guitar, vocals), Brian Donahue (bass guitar, vocals) and John Keefe (drums).

In 2006, their self-titled debut album went gold, producing three hit singles, "The Great Escape," "Hero/Heroine," and "Thunder."

Their sophomore album, "Love Drunk," made its debut at No. 8 on the Billboard Top 200 (in September 2009) and was praised by a myriad of media outlets, including People, Alternative Press, The New York Times and Billboard magazine.

The album's hit title track and first single, "Love Drunk," also soared to No. 8 on the pop radio chart and has sold over 1 million digital tracks to date. "Love Drunk" also brought more heat to the season by becoming last summer's pop-punk anthem.

"Two Is Better Than One," has also joined their collection of hits -- marking their fifth charting Top 40 single in just two albums, and features Grammy-award-winning superstar Taylor Swift.

Boys Like Girls has toured with pop-rock stars Good Charlotte and Avril Lavigne, as well as the Vans Warped Tour.

They have also shared the stage with fellow punk bands, Fall Out Boy, Cartel and the All American Rejects.

Like their name, Boys Like Girls -- well, fans like Boys! They're known to have one of the most solid and dedicated fan bases around.
