(CBS/WISH) BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - "We don't have breaking news," said Bloomington Lt. Bill Parker Thursday during a briefing on the search for missing Indiana University sophomore Lauren Spierer.

"When somebody at 4:30 in the morning, no shoes and has earlier been drinking, goes out and just disappears off a street corner - we feel like it certainly could be foul play involved.," Parker told the media. "At this point we don't have a revelation, we don't have breaking news, so we're still inviting tips, and we're inviting information."

Police and hundreds of volunteer continuing to search for Lauren, 20, who was last seen early Friday morning as she left a friend's apartment and started walking home, reports CBS affiliate WISH.

"It really helps to have people volunteer and we invite you to continue to do that," Parker said. "We are assisting them in those searches by providing a police sergeant to help coordinate those searches."

Police have interviewed Lauren's friends and say they fully cooperated with the investigation.

The news conference held Tuesday comes on day four of the search for the missing woman.

Lauren's father, Robert, outlined the plan to send out three search parties each day in hopes of finding his daughter.

"There's a lot more that we have to do until we find Lauren. We beg you if you can help us with the search that you continue to join us every day," he said. "We ask that if anyone saw Lauren on Thursday, Thursday night with anyone, please share that information with the Bloomington Police."

"Lauren is a child and a person that is full of life, always on the go," her father said.
