NEW YORK (CBS/AP) "Project Runway" breakout stars Austin Scarlett and Santino Rice are hoping to share their taste of high fashion to small-town America with their new reality show, "On the Road with Austin & Santino."

On their half hour show, which airs on Lifetime, Thursdays at 10:30 pm ET/PT, Scarlett and Rice team up and travel to rural areas across the country to create new, dream-come-true dresses for deserving ladies.

It sounds easy enough, but the designers stumble upon  two major crunches: the availablitly of fabric supplies in the small towns and time constraints. They usually have about 48 hours to create a wearable attractive garment on top of their TV show hosting duties.

"It's definitely the most challenging job or project I've been involved in," Scarlett told the Associated Press. "Much, much, much harder than 'Project Runway,'" agreed Rice.

By buying local materials and designing with what's available nearby, Rice added that the hope is to prove  everyone can have a taste of high fashion - no matter where they live.

"You might think you have to fly to Paris to get this look, but no you don't," said Rice. "It is available."

"I'm hoping that if we can bridge the gap between big city and country and just help the two worlds understand each other a little more, that's wonderful," added Scarlet.

So far the pair have designed gowns for an Army captain's graduation, a mother's 30th birthday and a mother and daughter's appearance in a pageant.

"A lot of clients have said to us, 'This is the most amazing thing that's happened to our family,'" Rice said. "And that brings tears to my eyes."
