Salahi's Car Pulled Over Near the White House Last Night

AP

The party-loving Michaele and Tareq Salahi obviously remain under the watchful eye of the Secret Service.

CBS News' Bob Orr and Andy Triay report that a marked Secret Service vehicle pulled the Salahis' limo over for allegedly running a red light near the White House. A source says the incident started when the limo attempted to enter an off-limits driveway on The Ellipse not far from the White House.

The driver of the vehicle was ticketed for running a red light.

Secret Service officials say the couple was not being "tailed" but the attempt to enter a restricted area quickly drew the attention of uniformed Secret Service officers.

There was no indication the couple planned to "crash" the state dinner President and Mrs. Obama were hosting in honor of Mexican President Felipe Calderon.

The Salahis remain under investigation for making their way into in the Mr. Obama's first state dinner for the prime minister of India last year. (photo from that evening seen at left)

The Washington Post reports the Salahis were later spotted at a restaurant several blocks from the White House.
