Ryann Bunnell Crow (PICTURES): Missing Newlywed Wife's Body Found on Bridge
SALINAS, Calif (CBS/KION) More than five months after newlywed Ryann Bunnell Crow went missing, authorities confirmed that remains found on a northern California bridge are indeed her.
The Monterey District Attorney announced Tuesday that DNA testing established that the remains found May 26 near Foster City, Calif. are of the missing 23-year-old.
Ryann Crow's family reported her missing on Feb. 2 when she didn't show up for work at a flower shop in Salinas, Calif. about 60 miles south of San Jose.
Her husband, Jesse Crow, was charged with her murder on Feb. 22. The search for her remains in the East Bay had been going on for two and a half months.
CBS affiliate KION obtained a statement from the victim's family, which said, "The revelation that Ryann has been found is bittersweet. We are happy that she is found so we can bring her to rest in the proper way that she deserves."
The family also said, "Ryann was a wonderful giving loving person. Her loss is a great one, not only for our family, but to the multitude of friends and extended family that she has. Thanks to everyone for giving our family the privacy and prayers that we need to cope with this tremendous loss."
Jesse Crow has pleaded not guilty to Ryann's murder, and was being held on $3 million bail.
