(CBS) You may not have thought it was possible, but Ryan Seacrest's schedule just got busier.

The radio personality, E! and "American Idol" host is teaming up with billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban to rebrand Cuban's HDNet as AXS TV, an entertainment channel, as early as late spring.

HDNet's founder Cuban and Ryan Seacrest Media will work with talent firm Creative Artists Agency and the sports and entertainment company AEG on the branding overhaul, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The cable network will debut a new round of live programming, focused on entertainment, show business and lifestyle, using downtown Los Angeles as its home base.

"The industry in Los Angeles is a sport," said Cuban, who described the the AXS (pronounce Access) channel update as a "'SportsCenter' for pop culture and music."

Cuban, the Dallas Mavericks team owner who launched HDNet in 2001, will keep some of its current shows, including "HDNet Fights" and "Dan Rather Reports."
