RSC Drafts 184 Amendments For Interior Spending Bill
Round one went to Republicans.
Round two hasn't begun.
So three House conservatives are readying for another showdown over earmarks and federal spending.
Three Republicans - Jeb Hensarling of Texas, John Campbell of California and Jeff Flake of Arizona - drafted 184 amendments to legislation funding the Department of the Interior as a simple show of force.
The lawmakers will only offer 11 to the bill, but Democrats assailed the manuever as a breach of the pact Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) cut with Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) to resolve the initial flare-up two weeks ago.
