Rosie O'Donnell says daughter's interview is "heartbreaking"
Rosie O'Donnell said her daughter Chelsea's 4,000-word tell-all interview with the Daily Mail was "heartbreaking on every level," per ET.
We don't blame her. Adoptive daughter Chelsea not only called her mom a liar, but also dished the dirt on Rosie's poor dieting and alleged marijuana habits.
She also said that Rosie's statement to the media that Chelsea had run away was false.
"I think she did that because people started asking questions and she didn't want to seem like this bad parent that had kicked her daughter out," Chelsea said. Chelsea claimed that she had told Rosie she wanted to move out when she turned 18, and shortly before Chelsea's 18th birthday, the former "View" host asked Chelsea to leave.
Chelsea added that she is not mentally ill, as her mother told the public.
"Putting out there that I am mentally ill was really hurtful," Chelsea told the Mail. "People think I'm this crazy person and as I've said, I have depression and bad anxiety -- but it's been something that's gotten a lot better. But these were personal things and I didn't want anyone to know them about me."
Chelsea, now 18, has left Rosie's home and lives with her boyfriend, Steve Sheerer, in New Jersey. She also stays in touch with her biological mother, Deanna Micolley.
