Romney Jogs And Sweats In New Campaign Ad
Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is airing a new television ad that features him jogging while an announcer extols his ability to meet "extraordinary challenges."
The ad, scheduled to air starting Thursday in New Hampshire and Iowa, intersperses video of a sweaty, jogging Romney with still images from his days as head of the 2002 Winter Olympics and governor of Massachusetts.
"An Olympics hit by scandal and deficits - he rescued them. He turned around dozens of companies and became a business legend," the announcer says. "At every step, he's met extraordinary challenges. Mitt Romney. The energy and experience to turn around Washington."
Romney, one of the most aggressive advertisers among the 2008 presidential hopefuls, has spent more than $6 million on advertising in Iowa, New Hampshire and other states, including a $2 million national cable buy earlier this year.
