A spokesman for Rolling Stone rocker Ronnie Wood says he was arrested on an assault charge in southern England.

David Rigg, Wood's spokesman, says the 62-year-old guitarist was arrested in the area of Claygate, south of London, on Wednesday.

Rigg says he can confirm that Wood was arrested and has been released on police bail.
