Rock Drummer Hurt In Car Blaze

Joey Kremer, the drummer for the popular rock band Aerosmith, is recovering from burns after a freak car accident on Wednesday.

Kremer's Ferrari caught fire in front of a gas station in Scituate, Mass., reports CBS station WBZ in Boston.

Kremer's wife, April, said, "All of a sudden, he looked up, and the car was just engulfed in flames. He said the flames were just so high, and they were all around him."

Kremer was burned on his arm, the back of his hand, and his legs. Kremer's wife believes that he will be okay, adding that he can move his fingers and so the accident should not impact his drumming career.

The owner of the gas station, Gerald Gorman, described how a fast-thinking attendant prevented the accident from becoming worse than it was: "The attendant looked up and just saw flames everywhere. He ran towards the front door to hit the stop switch on the pumps."

A fire department official said they would be looking at several possible causes for the fire, including electrical problems, the catalytic converter, and the fuel pump on the car.
