Robert De Niro to Receive Cecil B. DeMille Award at Golden Globes

LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) Robert De Niro is set to receive an honor at next year's Golden Globe Awards with the Cecil B. DeMille award for his contribution to the world of entertainment.

The award will be presented to him at the 68th annual Golden Globes on Jan. 16, which will be hosted by Ricky Gervais.

De Niro, 67, has won eight Golden Globes Awards in both the comedy and drama categories. He's also won two Academy Awards and the Kennedy Center Honor.

He will next be seen with Ben Stiller and Dustin Hoffman in the third installment of the "Meet the Parents" franchise, "Little Fockers," due in theaters Dec. 22.

Past winners of the DeMille award include last year's recipient, Martin Scorsese, along with Barbra Streisand, Al Pacino and Michael Douglas.

The 2011 Golden Globe nominations will be announced on Dec. 14.
