Republicans Ask For Money For Coleman Legal Effort

(CBS/AP)
The seemingly-interminable Minnesota Senate battle between Democrat Al Franken and Republican Norm Coleman continues to rage in the Minnesota courts. (Very long story short: Franken holds a slim lead following a statewide recount, but Coleman is challenging the recount results.)

With the legal wrangling ongoing, some of Coleman's Republican allies are now reaching out to help pay the Minnesotan's legal bills. In a video posted to YouTube, Sen. Mitch McConnell, Rep. John Boehner, RNC Chair Michael Steele and others sing Coleman's praises and ask for contributions for his legal battle.

"A little bit of money right now could make the difference," Sen. James Inhofe says in the video. "We've got to get every ballot counted, it's got to be accurate."

"This fight that he's taking on to make sure that every ballot is counted represents the best in democracy," adds Sen. Lindsay Graham. "So anything you can do to help Norm financially to make sure that he can tell his story before the court is much appreciated."
