Renzi Resigns From All His House Committee Assignments
Rep. Rick Renzi (R-Ariz.), who is under investigation by the Justice Department for his involvement in a land swap, has resigned all his committee assignments. Renzi had earlier stepped down from the Intelligence Committee after his family business was raided by the FBI, and now he has stepped down from the Resources and Financial Services panel as well.
Here's a statement from House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Renzi's decision: "I appreciate the decision Rick has made and know it was a difficult one. I know it was made with the best interests of the House, his constituents, and his family in mind, and I look forward to seeing this matter resolved swiftly."
