Renzi Paid Over $100,000 In Legal Fees This Year

Republican Rep. Rick Renzi of Arizona paid Washington law firm Patton Boggs, LLP, just over $100,000 in legal fees during the first three months of this year, Politico’s Josh Kraushaar reports.

Renzi paid Patton Boggs $103,179 in legal fees during the first quarter of this year, according to the congressman’s most recent Federal Election Commission filing.

Renzi is reportedly being investigated by a federal prosecutor for introducing legislation in 2003 that indirectly benefited a military contractor that employed his father.

The congressman’s office did not immediately respond to a phone call for comment.
