Reid, McConnell To Push Murray Bill To Move Iraq Debate Forward

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) are preparing to jointly introduce a revised version of a resolution by Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) in order to break a logjam in the Senate over the Iraq funding bill.

The Senate is scheduled to vote on four different Iraq proposals tomorrow being offered by Sens. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), Russ Feingold (D-Wis.), Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and John Warner (R-Va.), although none of the proposals are expected to reach the 60-vote threshold needed for overcoming a filibuster by the opposition.
