Reed (Not) All About VP Speculation
Rhode Island senator Jack Reed is heading to Iraq and Afghanistan with Barack Obama for his summer, something that has spurred some speculation over him as a potential vice presidential selection. But the West Point graduate says he's not interested in the slot, the AP reports. In an interview, Reed said that "he's a bit surprised" by all the speculation and says he has not been asked to provide any information to the campaign for vetting. Reed's depth of experience on military and security issues is a big reason he's been discussed as a potential running mate but may be too unknown among general election voters to be considered a real possibility.
