Hal Morris and the Cincinnati Reds agreed Thursday on a one-year contract worth $500,000.

Morris, 34, was the Reds' regular first baseman from 1990 until 1997. He spent a year with Kansas City, then returned to Cincinnati as a pinch hitter and backup first baseman, hitting .284 with 16 RBIs in 80 games this year.

He had a $400,000 base salary this season and earned an additional $50,000 in performance bonuses.
