Redmond O'Neal arrested for drugs again

(CBS/KCBS) LOS ANGELES - Redmond O'Neal, son of actor Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett, was arrested Tuesday after an officer found heroin in his car.

Police say they arrested O'Neal, 26, around 8:45 a.m., when a motorcycle officer pulled him over after he ran a red light near Olympic and Lincoln boulevards in Santa Monica, reports CBS station KCBS. The officer then discovered the heroin after searching the vehicle. 

The arrest is nothing new to O' Neal who has battled addiction since his teens. He has also been in and out of jail and rehab centers for crimes related to substance abuse.

Last August, O'Neal graduated from a drug court program for a pair of drug-possession cases. He is now being held without bail on a felony probation hold and is expected to appear in court on Thursday.
