Razorfish Hit by Mini Exodus of Staff
Is it just me, or have a lot of people left Razorfish recently? The shop was acquired by Publicis (PUB) from Microsoft (MSFT) in August. The exodus has looked like this:
Dec. 7: Marc Lucas, former executive creative director of Razorfish, N.Y., is named the new chief creative officer of MDC Partners (MDCA)'s Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners.
Dec. 1: Patrick Moorhead, the shop's director of emerging platforms, defected to Interpublic (IPG)'s Draftfcb.
Nov. 24: John Harne, formerly a consultant on behalf of Razorfish clients, went to Atlanta-based interactive marketing agency Definition 6 as executive creative director.
Oct. 7: Susan Kidwell, VP, client services and head of Razorfish's South Florida location quit last week
June: Jeff Lanctot, former chief strategy officer, left for Microsoft.
Publicis told investors that by merging Razorfish and Digitas under its Vivaki unit it will save $13 million. Those savings will most likely come from staff cuts so ... these departures may not be unwelcome.
