Ravens Sign Pro-Bolwer

Pro Bowl defensive end Michael McCrary reached an agreement in principle Thursday with the Baltimore Ravens on a five-year deal.

Other than the length of the pact, terms were not released by the team.

McCrary, who had 14 1/2 sacks for Baltimore last season, still had a year left on his contract, but his agent was instructed to reach a deal before Sunday's season opener. McCrary staged a two-day walkout late last month to protest the slow pace of the negotiations.

McCrary, 29, had been seeking a six- or seven-year deal averaging $7 million per season, including a $13 million signing bonus. The Ravens countered with a six-year contract averaging $6.5 million, including a $11.5 million bonus.
