Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus Welcomes a Daughter
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CBS/AP) Rascal Flatts bassist Jay DeMarcus and his wife, Allison, have had their first child.
A news release says Madeline Leigh DeMarcus was born Friday afternoon in Nashville. She weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces.
DeMarcus says his daughter is absolutely gorgeous and looks just like her daddy.
He told People magazine in an interview that the baby "is tiny, but perfect in every way! I'm just kissing her little face off."
"Picking a name for a girl was hard," he said. "There are so many beautiful names, and so many pretty combinations. Leigh is Ali's middle name, and we just loved Madeline, though I'm already calling her Maddy."
The bassist is the second member of Rascal Flatts to welcome a new baby this year. Guitarist Joe Don Rooney and his wife, Tiffany Fallon, welcomed their second child, daughter Raquel Blue, in September.
