Rapper Jailed On Rape Charge

Rap star Mystikal has been jailed on rape and extortion charges.

Mystikal -- whose real name is Michael Tyler -- turned himself in to police in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, early today.

His lawyers accompanied him.

He's accused of raping a 40-year-old acquaintance and threatening to tell police someone had written checks to her from his account without permission.

Police say he also called two men over to his house, and that they also sexually assaulted the woman. They say during the assault, the woman was repeatedly threatened with prosecution in connection with the checks.

Police say charges are pending against the other two men.

No comment from the rapper's lawyers or his record label.
