Rapper Earl Hayes and VH1 star Stephanie Moseley dead in apparent murder-suicide
"Hit the Floor" star Stephanie Moseley and her husband, rapper Earl Hayes, are dead in an apparent murder-suicide, sources tell ET. Hayes, who was a member of boxer Floyd Mayweather's Money Team, allegedly shot and killed Moseley before turning the gun on himself.
ET was at the scene, and spoke to actress and model Eva Marcille who had been Moseley's long-time friend. An emotional Marcille shared her memories of Moseley.
"Stephanie was an absolute angel. She really was, to everybody she's ever met," said Marcille, who came to Moseley's apartment complex when she heard the tragic news. "She's so loved. And she will never, ever, ever be forgotten."
When asked if Moseley had said anything in recent days that would cause Marcille to worry, the 30-year-old "America's Next Top Model" winner said, "We shared life circumstances, and what we've been going through. And her life hasn't exactly been rosy, as of late... but I didn't think it was going to come to this."
Residents at the couple's Los Angeles apartment complex told police they heard a woman screaming before gun shots rang out early Monday morning. Sources tell TMZ that the couple were in the process of splitting up and that Hayes had accused Moseley of infidelity with "a famous singer."
Moseley, a professional dancer, had toured with many famous acts, including Britney Spears and Chris Brown.
VH1, the network behind "Hit the Floor," issued a statement on Monday remembering Moseley. "We are incredibly saddened to hear the news of the passing of Stephanie Moseley," the network said in a statement to Us. "VH1 and the entire "Hit the Floor" family send our thoughts and condolences to her family and friends at this difficult time."
"Dancing with the Stars" pro and"So You Think You Can Dance" alum Allison Holker took to Instagram to pen a touching message about Moseley, with whom she co-starred on "Hit the Floor."
"Today we bow our heads and send prayers to our special Stephanie and her beautiful family. Stephanie was a bright, inspiring, talented woman and I am honored I could call her my friend," Holker's post read accompanying a photo of Moseley. "We shared cries, laughter and more importantly a friendship that I will never forgot. Moseley you taught me so much, and I will hold our memories close to my heart. Heaven is lucky to have you. I love you."
Ashley Tisdale, who danced with Moseley on The CW's cheerleading show "Hellcats,"also remembered her co-star on Twitter.
