Rahm's Six Pack

Democratic Caucus Chairman Rahm Emanuel is widely viewed as the mastermind behind the Democratic takeover of the House, helping recruit and fund candidates who helped the party regain the House majority for the first time since 1992.

And though he's no longer chairing the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, we can cull his favorite challengers from the donations he has dished out this past quarter.

The Illinois congressman gave money to six Democratic recruits, none of whom are facing primary opposition: former Kansas City Mayor Kay Barnes, running against Rep. Sam Graves (R-Mo.); state Sen. John Unger, running against Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.); state Assemblywoman Linda Stender, running against Rep. Mike Ferguson (R-N.J.); state House Minority Whip Steve Driehaus, running against Rep. Steve Chabot (R-Ohio); state Sen. John Boccieri, running against Rep. Ralph Regula (R-Ohio); and teacher Larry Kissell, running against Rep. Robin Hayes (R-N.C.).

An Emanuel spokeswoman declined to comment on why he chose the six candidates, but all have been highly touted by the DCCC.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi donated money to four House challengers: Barnes, Boccieri, Stender and Kissell.
