Cops: Mother, toddlers stabbed to death in Queens apt.

QUEENS, N.Y. – A mother and her two young daughters were found stabbed to death in Queens Sunday night, and now police are hoping to speak with the children’s father, CBS New York reports.

Deisy Garcia, 21, and her daughters, two-year-old Daniela Mejia and one-year-old Yaslin Mejia, were found dead in a Jamaica apartment in Queens, according to authorities. Paramedics were called to the scene at 7 p.m. Sunday night, a fire department spokesman confirmed.

The bodies were found in the bedroom by other members of the household with multiple stab wounds in the chest and stomach, police say.

“I’m in total shock at this moment,” said neighbor Michael Morales.

Sarei Hernandez, friend of the Garcias, was in disbelief. “Nobody thought that would happen…. She was always happy. She was with her two daughters so she was always happy.”

Garcia’s friends say she was religious and frequently attended the Church of God in Jamaica.

Police are seeking the children’s father for questioning.
