Pulp Shakespeare: "Pulp Fiction" by the Bard

(CBS) - Forsooth, 'tis truly the finest rendition of "Pulp Fiction" we have err laid eyes on. The Hollywood Frindge theater in Los Angeles is currently hosting this Elizabethan re-imagining of Quentin Tarantino's gory 1994 thriller. None of the profanity, all of the drama. That's how we like our plays.

The players themselves are Aaron Lyons and Dan White, as well as the rest of theater troupe His Majesty's Secret Players. Turning Tarantino's dialogue into iambic pentameter must have been brutal, but it definitely pays off. It doesn't hurt that White sounds an awful lot like Samuel L. Jackson.

The theater sums up the idea of the play:

"Pulp Shakespeare" (or "A Slurry Tale") is a reimagining of the cult film "Pulp Fiction" as if written by William Shakespeare. Set in Elizabethan England, this wildly entertaining play weaves the story of a pair of murderers, their boss's alluring wife, and a desperate knight.

If you've ever wondered what some of the classic lines in "Pulp Fiction" would have sounded like four hundred years ago, now's your chance to find out.
