Protesters set sights on top Trump aide Steve Bannon

LOS ANGELES -- Protesters in downtown Los Angeles shifted the focus Wednesday night off President-elect Donald Trump and to Steve Bannon, Trump’s appointee as chief White House strategist and senior counselor, reports CBS Los Angeles.

The gathering began at the steps of City Hall, then moved peacefully down Spring Street.

Bannon, the former executive chairman at the right-wing website Breitbart News, is alleged to have ties to white supremacist groups.

The rally drew people of all ages.

“We would like the president-elect to pick a more qualified and less openly racist and hostile candidate,” demonstrator Kelly Cercone told CBS Los Angeles.

Bannon is credited with having been a major player in Trump’s upset victory in the presidential election.
