Prosecutors: Dance teacher had sexual affair with girl, 14
BAY SHORE, N.Y. --A Long Island dance instructor has been indicted on charges of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl he had been teaching.
Twenty-seven-year-old Bryan Galvis had been expected to be arraigned Tuesday on charges of rape and related offenses. A spokeswoman for the Suffolk County district attorney later said the arraignment has been postponed by the court until Friday.
Prosecutors say the Brentwood man worked as a dance instructor at Herencia Calena Latin Dance Company in Bay Shore. He allegedly began the relationship in October 2015.
Authorities say the victim told a family member about it and Galvis was arrested in January.
He's been free on $100,000 bond.
It's unclear if he has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
