Professor's child porn stash found while firefighters battle blaze in his N.J. home

(CBS/AP) EAGLESWOOD TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Authorities say firefighters in southern New Jersey found a stock of child pornography while fighting a fire in the home of a Pratt Institute architecture professor.

Police charged 76-year-old Gamal El-Zoghby with child endangerment after firefighters battled the blaze engulfing his home Tuesday. It took 12 hours to put the fire out.

CBS New York reports that State Police spokesman Brian Polite says images of child pornography started to fall around firefighters as they tore open the sheetrock walls to insure the fire wasn't spreading. According to the Press of Atlantic City, it appears the pornography was hidden in the ceiling.

Polite said he could not discuss how many images were found. The cause of Tuesday's fire is unknown.

El-Zoghby has been a professor of architecture at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn since 1969. El-Zoghby was released pending a future court, Polite said.
