NEW YORK (CBS) When Prince Albert II of Monaco weds his fiancee, Charlene Wittstock, the world will watch. And it certainly won't be the first time that a high-profile wedding has people talking.

The "power weddings" of royals and other notables have a history of capturing everyone's attention.

Albert and Wittstock have yet to set a date, but there is another big wedding coming up: that of Chelsea Clinton and Mark Mezvinsky, who are set to wed on July 31. The daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will say "I do" in front of 400 people at an undisclosed location.

Another presidential daughter who recently tied the knot is Jenna Bush Hager, the daughter of President George W. Bush. She and husband Henry Hager married in front of more than 200 guests at the Bush ranch in Crawford, Texas, back in 2008. The bride wore an Oscar de la Renta gown with a short train, and her twin sister, Jenna, was her maid of honor.

There were also the White House weddings of Linda Bird Johnson, the daughter of President Lyndon Johnson, to Capt. Charles Robb in 1967 and President Richard Nixon's daughter, Tricia, to Edward Cox in 1971.

Of course, no one does a wedding quite like the royals.

Most recently, Princess Victoria of Sweden tied the knotwith her former personal trainer, Daniel Westling, on June 19 in front of more than 950 guests that included royals from Japan, Denmark, Spain and Jordan. Pictures: Sweden's Royal Wedding

The 1956 wedding of Prince Albert's parents, Prince Rainier and Princess Grace also was a marriage of royalty and Hollywood and drew headlines and interest befitting that scale. Their April 18 civil ceremony was broadcast across Europe and the church wedding the next day was seen by some 30 million TV viewers. Thousands turned up at the New York dock to see the princess-to-be, Oscar -winning actress Grace Kelly, depart by ship for Monaco. In Europe, some 20,000 people greeted her arrival.

But even among the royal weddings, the most well-known is that of Prince Charles to Lady Diana Spencer on July 29, 1981. The nuptials were watched by over half-a-million people in Britain, and a global audience of a staggering 750 million.
