President Obama's Schedule Today (4/21/10)
In the morning, President Obama and Vice President Biden will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing and the Economic Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. They will then meet with the bipartisan leaders of the Senate and the bipartisan leaders of the Senate Judiciary Committee in the Oval Office to discuss the Supreme Court vacancy. Expected attendees include Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.).
In the afternoon, the president and the vice president will have lunch in the Private Dining Room. Later, Mr. Obama will attend a reception for G-20 labor ministers in the Diplomatic Reception Room.
The president and First Lady Michelle Obama will also host members of the United States Olympic and Paralympic teams on the South Portico on Wednesday afternoon. The president and first lady will congratulate Olympians and Paralympians on their performance and thank them for representing the U.S. during the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games. They will also discuss Michelle Obama's "Let's Move!" campaign against childhood obesity.
Later, Mr. Obama and Biden will meet with Defense Secretary Robert Gates in the Oval Office. Following the meeting, they will then meet with Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the Oval Office.
