President Obama's Schedule Today (10/22/09)
In the morning, President Obama will receive his Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office and then meet with Lieutenant General Karl Eikenberry, U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan, via videoconference in the Situation Room. He will then meet with senior advisers.
Later, Mr. Obama will meet with Speaker Nancy Pelosi for lunch in the Private Dining Room.
In the afternoon, the president will sign into law the Veterans Health Care Budget Reform and Transparency Act.
Later, the president has separate meetings with Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va. and Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt.
