President Obama's Schedule Today (10/13/09)
In the morning, President Obama will receive his daily briefings and then meet separately with senior advisers and Vice President Biden in the Oval Office.
Later, Mr. Obama will attend a working lunch with President Zapatero of Spain. Mr. Obama and Zapatero will then make statements to the press in the Oval Office.
In the afternoon, the president will meet with Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind. The president and vice president will later meet with Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.
In the evening, Mr. Obama and Michelle Obama, along with Biden and his wife, Jill, will attend "In Performance at the White House: Fiesta Latina," a concert celebrating Hispanic musical heritage on the South Lawn. Participants include Marc Anthony, Jimmy Smits, Pete Escovedo, Gloria Estefan, José Feliciano, George Lopez, Thalía, Tito "El Bambino", the Bachata music group Aventura, and the Chicano rock band Los Lobos, with Sheila E. leading the house band. (The concert will be televised on Oct. 15th on public broadcasting stations, on Telemundo on Oct. 18 and on V-me on Dec. 25)
