Pregnant Texas police employee found shot to death

KYLE, Texas - No arrests have been made in the killing of a pregnant victims-services coordinator in central Texas who was shot in the head three times last week.

The body of Samantha Dean, 27, was found lying on the ground next to her car in a parking lot in Bastrop County on February 4. An autopsy revealed that Dean was seven months pregnant at the time of her death, and that she died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Dean worked as a victims-services coordinator for the Kyle Police Department, located approximately 20 miles southwest of Austin.

CBS affiliate KHOU reports that confidential sources say an Austin police officer has been put on paid leave and is thought to be the father of Dean's unborn child.
