ATLANTA — Authorities say a postal worker was shot and killed outside Atlanta.
Authorities say the victim was a woman, but have released no other details about her. The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. Monday in the back loading area of a post office in Decatur, about one mile southeast of Atlanta, reports CBS affiliate WGCL. The victim was shot in the head and later died at a nearby hospital.
U.S. Postal Service spokesman Rick Badie told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that postal inspectors are investigating the Monday night shooting, which occurred in DeKalb County.
Police are searching for a suspect.
