Portia de Rossi: "It's just going to be me and Ellen and no babies"
While deciding not to have kids wasn't an easy decision for Portia de Rossi, it's a final one. The Australian-born actress, who is married to talk show host, Elle DeGeneres, tells Out magazine, that kids are not in their future.
De Rossi, who has been married to DeGeneres for five years, says that deciding not to have kids was not easy, but it was ultimately the right one for her.
"There comes some pressure in your mid-30s, and you think, Am I going to have kids so I don't miss out on something that other people really seem to love?" the 40-year-old actress says. "Or is it that I really genuinely want to do this with my whole heart? I didn't feel that my response was 'yes' to the latter."
Continues de Rossi: "You have to really want to have kids, and neither of us did. So it's just going to be me and Ellen and no babies."
And de Rossi and her DeGeneres, 55, have made peace with the decision. "We've settled into happily married life," she says. "We really support each other in whatever we're doing and we're incredibly happy, which is why you don't see us in the press so much. There's no drama to report."
Plus, who needs kids when you've got the Bluth family? De Rossi is gearing up for the much-anticipated return of "Arrested Development," reprising her role as Lindsay Bluth Funke in an upcoming new season of the beloved cult comedy, returning via Netflix.
So, she's got nothing to complain about. "Married life is blissful, it really is," she tells Out. "I've never been happier than I am right now."
