Police: Two Calif. men kidnapped, tortured victim with fork and hammer

(CBS/AP/KCOY) SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.- Authorities have arrested two men who they believe kidnapped another man and held him for days while torturing him with a fork and a hammer.

The victim escaped Friday and called 911, according to a statement by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.

One suspect, Phillip Williams, was arrested when he returned to the scene Saturday. The second suspect, Daniel Andrew Zeller, was taken into custody Monday with the help of a California Highway Patrol helicopter, reports CBS affiliate KCOY.

"It is our preliminary understanding that the victim was known to the suspects," Rob Bryn, a spokesperson for the San Luis Obispo County, told KCOY.

Both suspects were reportedly already wanted by multiple law enforcement agencies. 

Authorities said it is unclear why the kidnap victim was targeted. He was being treated for unspecified injuries at a local hospital.
