Police seeking white Chevy pickup in case of Lauren Spierer, missing Ind. Univ. student
(CBS) BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Police are searching for a white Chevy pickup truck seen circling the block around the time that missing Indiana University student Lauren Spierer was last seen.
The vehicle is a 4-door white Chevrolet Silverado or Colorado that was caught on a surveillance camera heading west on 10th Street towards Morton Street in Bloomington around 4:14 a.m., and then seen again heading west on 10th Street at 4:24 a.m.
Spierer was last seen heading home alone from 11th street and College Avenue, only a few blocks from where the vehicle was spotted multiple times on the security video.
At Wednesday's press conference, police released a still frame image of the vehicle and asked for the public's help in identifying the car and its driver.
The car is a short bed truck with distinctive wheels, it has a bed liner and writing or a logo on its sides, police say, and it appears to be a mid-2000s model.
Police also released photos of Spierer leaving her apartment with friends the night she later disappeared.
Anyone with information about the truck is asked to call the Bloomington Police Department at 812-339-4477. Callers may remain anonymous.
