Hello, I'm here to surrender...

WOODLAND, Calif. - A man wanted in roughly 150 burglaries in Northern California tried to turn himself in recently, but reportedly left the police station in disgust after waiting too long to be booked.

CBS Sacramento says Mario Lopez showed up at the Yolo County Jail to surrender last week, but apparently walked out because - according to video surveillance - he waited 14 minutes and nobody showed up to process him. The station reports it has learned the average wait time at the jail is 15 to 20 minutes.

Apparently Lopez is no common criminal. He's wanted in more than 150 home and car burglaries in Woodland, Calif.Joey Luna told CBS Sacramento he's not just a burglary victim -- he knows Lopez personally. He says the suspect's thieving ways are to help feed a methamphetamine habit.

Woodland police say they are now offering a reward for the capture and conviction of Lopez - the man who tried to surrender.

"Every time we've contacted him, he's had a firearm," Woodland Police Sgt. Brett Hancock. "We're warning the public he's armed and dangerous."

Several other people have been arrested for the burglary spree.
