Police searching for Md. man accused of killing wife at Dunkin Donuts

HANOVER, Md. -- Anne Arundel County police are looking for a man who allegedly killed his wife while at a Dunkin Donuts Sunday night, reports CBS affiliate WUSA.

Police say that an officer was dispatched to the store for a walk-up complaint about no employees being present at the shop. When he arrived on the scene, he found no one there, but upon further investigation, discovered a woman lying in the kitchen, according to the station.

The woman appeared to have sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police told the station. She was later identified as Palak Bhadreskumar Patel, 21, of Hanover.

Using evidence found at the scene, detectives say they have identified Palak Patel's husband, 24-year-old Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel, as the suspect. Preliminary evidence shows that Bhadreshkumar Patel struck his wife multiple times with an object before fleeing the premises.

Both were employees at the Dunkin Donuts location.

Bhadreshkumar Patel has been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and dangerous weapon with intent to injure, according to WUSA.
