Police search for vehicle in Lauren Spierer missing case in Indiana
(CBS) BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Bloomington police say they are searching for a specific vehicle, or vehicles, that have "come to [their] attention" and may offer leads in the disappearance of Indiana University student Lauren Spierer.
Police are investigating a report of a vehicle seen multiple times on the morning of Spierer's disappearance at and around Morton and 11th street where she was reportedly last seen, police said at a press briefing on Monday. Police did not release details, saying that they're waiting for enhancement of surveillance footage they hope will allow them to identify the driver or drivers.
Police say the video may show one or two cars. The drivers are not necessarily suspects but could have information.
Spierer was last seen about 4:30 a.m. on Friday, June 3, as she left a friend's apartment and started walking home to her downtown Bloomington apartment
Spierer's disappearance was featured in a two-minute segment on "America's Most Wanted" Saturday leading to dozens of tips, but no major breakthroughs.
Lauren's mother, Charlene Spierer, of Edgemont, N.Y., said at Monday's press conference, "Lauren I love you your dad loves you. You are changing lives in Bloomington and across the country. We're never going to stop and never going to quit."
