Police Probe Possible School Stoning

Police and school officials in Northern California are investigating a disturbing allegation that middle school students ganged up on a teacher and attacked her with stones, CBS station KPIX-TV reports.

El Cerrito police Sgt. Shawn Maples said a group of students reportedly attacked the teacher on Monday, pushing her to the ground and possibly throwing rocks at her.

The school's vice principal saw the commotion and intervened, at which point the teacher ran back to her classroom, Maples said.
