(CBS/AP) NEW CASTLE, Pa. - Sometimes, the road to court is paved with good intentions. Sort of.

Police say a western Pennsylvania man stole a woman's coat from a hospital maternity ward because he thought it was nice, and wanted to give it to his girlfriend.

Awwww!

Ryan Bonace, 28, of New Castle, is being charged with theft and receiving stolen property.

The New Castle News reports a woman reported the coat stolen late Thursday afternoon at Jameson Hospital, about 45 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

Police say Bonace confessed that he wanted the item for his girlfriend.
