Police officers in Alabama Taser arrest video identified

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Authorities have identified three Alabama police officers who were placed on paid administrative leave after videos showed them using a stun gun and a baton while arresting three University of Alabama students.

Tuscaloosa Police Chief Steven Anderson on Tuesday identified the officers as James Kent, Phillip Champion and Gregory Pimm.

Police were called to an apartment building Sunday morning because of an alleged noise complaint after the University of Alabama's win over Louisiana State.

Videos posted to social media showed police pulling three people out of an apartment after students refused to leave, asking an officer for a warrant.

Three students were arrested and face charges including obstructing governmental operations, harassment and resisting arrest.

In one video, an officer can be seen gripping one student's shirt while saying, "You're under arrest for harassment for touching my arm."

Officers can be seen on video using a Taser on at least one person and repeatedly hitting another with a baton.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department has not clarified the roles each officer had in the incident.

A phone number for Pimm couldn't be found. Calls and messages to phone numbers listed for Champion and Kent weren't answered.
