Police: Naked woman arrested after driving wrong way

CLARE, Mich. - Authorities say a naked woman driving the wrong way on a highway in Clare County, Mich. led police on a chase before she was arrested.

Police say the 23-year-old woman from Harrison left behind her 32-year-old husband, who was also naked, and their child at a rest stop near Clare early Tuesday morning. The Clare County sheriff says the woman was driving the wrong way at 85 mph on U.S. Highway 127 at around 4:30 a.m. when deputies tried to stop her. She eventually came to a halt and ran before being caught.

CBS Detroit reports authorities say the woman dodged traffic and was lucky she didn't get struck by oncoming traffic.

The Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant reports the woman was arrested on charges of fleeing and eluding, child abuse and indecent exposure. Her husband was also arrested and is accused of indecent exposure and child abuse.

It's unclear why the entire family was naked.

The couple was expected to be arraigned Wednesday. The child was reportedly turned over to a third party.
