Police discover woman's body during welfare check at home of Wisc. TV anchor Asa George, report says

(CBS) - Police in Wisconsin discovered the body of a woman as they were checking on the welfare of local television reporter Asa George, reports the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Police were called to the home of George, 34, in West Allis, a Milwaukee suburb, just before 11 a.m. Friday, reports the paper. Officers found a body of a woman in the home, but couldn't immediately identify her.

The Milwaukee County medical examiner is reportedly working to identify the body and determine the cause and manner of death.

George reported for WITI-TV and CBS affiliate WDJT-TV.
