Police arrest 19-year-old Iloune Driver in fatal Brighton Beach boardwalk shooting
(CBS/WCBS) NEW YORK - Police have arrested 19-year-old Iloune Driver on murder charges for the fatal Brighton Beach boardwalk shooting in Brooklyn that left one dead and four injured.
Driver, of Brooklyn, was charged with murder and assault, reports CBS station WCBS.
Tysha Jones, 16, was killed in the attack and four others, young men in their twenties, were injured.
The shooting took place around 5:20 p.m. Thursday, when one person approached a group of five and opened fire, police say. The incident reportedly began as an argument.
"There was a whole crowd, and they was arguing," said witness Jose Reyes. "He just started shooting. It was about four or five shots."
"You're never expecting nothing to happen at no beach - somebody pulling out guns, nothing but kids and everybody out there having fun. I never thought that," said the victim's mother, Cynithia, according to WCBS.
