Mary Pierce won the Luxembourg Open on Saturday when her opponent, Silvia Farina of Italy, withdrew in the second set because of a thigh injury.
Pierce was leading 6-0, 2-0 when the Italian player retired 35 minutes into the match.
Farina had left the court earlier for treatment on her thigh.
It was the second consecutive victory for Pierce, No. 11 in the WTA rankings. She won the Kremlin Cup in Moscow on Sunday.
"I really had a great week here," Pierce told the crowd after receiving a car as part of her reward for winning the title.
