NEW YORK (CBS) Annie Le, a 24-year-old Yale University graduate student vanished on Sept. 8, five days before her wedding. Runaway bride or victim of a horrible crime? At this point, we just don't know.
What we do know is the medical student was last seen Tuesday on the New Haven campus where she left her personal belongings behind. The promising researcher is engaged to Jonathan Widawsky, a Columbia University graduate student, and the two were to wed just five days after her disappearance, on Sept. 13, in New York.
Authorities said on Thursday that they do not suspect foul play, but at the time of this posting, the FBI had joined the search for Le.
Widawsky and Le's family are in New Haven assisting in the search, and according to a source at the wedding hall, the event has not been cancelled.
Family and friends of the couple say they seemed happy and very excited for their wedding day and that Le had visited Widawsky the weekend before she vanished.
In these photos from Le's Facebook page, the two appear inseparable and very much in love.
